On Saturday, October 18th, I picked up Concha from the Crowne Plaza-St. Paul at the end of three full days of an international conference on bilingual education. Even though her birthday was still a week away, it seemed like a good idea to start the "tour" providing us with an opportunity to spend some time out together. "Where are we going to go?" she asks. Obviously, it had to be a surprise.

Off we drove toward the west, turned south on Hennepin Avenue. Destination: Stella's Fish Café. I'd been there for happy hour once before and loved the view of downtown from the upstairs bar. Although it was a bit cool that evening, we were able to enjoy our first taste test sitting outside.

We both recommend the venue for the great view of the city, but be sure to choose a nice warm evening. -Jake
